“We often use the initials, MWC, for our club, but we do not lose sight of the significance of our full name: Metropolitan Woman’s Club. That’s because each Metropolitan Woman is a unique person with special talents. Every woman has something to give. Somewhere, sometime…someone is touched by what you do.”

Welcome to MWC!

The Metropolitan Woman’s Club, Inc. is a nonprofit organization in Madison, WI, that was formed in August 1971 by a group of women who joined together to encourage the social, cultural and intellectual fulfillment of the individual member. The club is dedicated to the acceptance of civic responsibilities as they relate to the needs of the community.

Each year financial support and other donations are given to worthy community organizations or projects. One scholarship a year is also bestowed on a deserving, financially challenged adult returning to post-secondary education with the intent of improving their current career status or beginning a new career.

There are six meetings a year with programs that are cultural, educational or entertaining. Interest groups within the organization provide multiple opportunities for member participation and camaraderie.

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others’?”
