Welcome to our Metropolitan Woman’s Club Website.
Metropolitan Woman’s Club is entering its 50th year as an organization dedicated to community responsibilities and the enhancement of the lives of its members.
Every year, we award an academic scholarship to a young adult who is returning back to school to finish her/his education. This past year the award went to Tasha McKenzie. She returned to school in 2003, balancing school while working and raising two children. She attends Edgewood College and is in her final year majoring in Organizational Behavioral Leadership.
Annually, we grant a service award to a local organization. Our service award this past year went to Wheels for Winners, a nonprofit organization operating an earn-a-bike program serving Madison and Dane County. Staffed by volunteers, they refurbish donated bikes. The bikes are received mostly by youth, who are then required to perform at least 15 hours of community service in partnership with local organizations.
Every year, we have six lunch or dinner meetings with programs that entertain and educate our membership. In addition, we have a wide variety of interest groups providing activities for our members. They include a walking group, book club, writing group, bridge groups, craft group, dining groups, and an adventure group exploring the community.
Metropolitan Woman’s Club has something for everyone and has forged many lifelong friendships. Take a look at our website for pictures and more information.
