Message From Our President

Peggy Wiederholt, MWC President

Welcome to the Metropolitan Woman’s Club Website!

As you explore our website, you will see that we have traced the roots of the Metropolitan Woman’s Club to the first pre-charter meeting in 1971 and the presentation of the official charter from the GFWC-Wisconsin Federation of Women’s Clubs on January 17, 1972.

Although MWC members voted to leave the Federation and become an independent organization in 1989-90, the Club has remained true to the mission of charitable giving, scholarship support and fulfillment of the needs of our members.

Now, as we celebrate over 45-years of history, we treasure the many lifelong friendships that have been established and we proudly recognize the generous, giving spirit of our members who have made a difference in the lives of so many through community-based financial service awards and continuing education scholarships.

We express gratitude to our original charter members and recognize those who continue to be active members.  We embrace all who have followed in their paths and have given their time and talent to maintain and expand our many accomplishments. We warmly welcome new members who will define our future.

As we look forward to the next 45 years, the time has come to re-vitalize the pioneer spirit of our charter members by embarking on a mission to increase awareness of and interest in our wonderful organization. Our website is just the beginning!
